StripeWARNING: Logic Pro 11.2 contains a bug that causes unexpected behavior with surface controls. It is on Logic's side and should be fixed in upcoming 11.2+
Boreal is a sleek, intuitive tool designed to make working with Logic Pro's Articulation Sets faster, easier, and more flexible. Whether you are composing orchestral scores or managing complex MIDI workflows, Boreal puts powerful articulation control and remote DAW functionality at your fingertips — all from a clean web interface, accessible on any device.
Boreal consists of a desktop application that runs on your computer alongside Logic Pro, creating a bridge between your DAW and any device on your local WiFi network. The desktop app lets you edit your articulation sets outside of Logic Pro's interface, and establishes a connection to Logic Pro through Surface Control(Mackie and MIDI protocols). Once connected, you can access Boreal's web controller from any WiFi-enabled device — whether it is your phone, tablet, or another computer. The web interface dynamically displays all available articulations for your currently selected track, based on the articulation set assigned to that track, and allows you to trigger them remotely with a simple tap or click.
I kept forgetting keyswitches and available articulations, so I built a mobile controller that displays them dynamically, with minimal setup.

Install Boreal on Your Mac
Download and install Boreal from the .dmg file. Your Mac may ask for security permissions - simply allow the app to run. Boreal acts as a bridge between Logic Pro and your mobile devices.
Create Your Articulation Sets
Use Boreal's built-in editor to create and organize your articulation sets for different instruments (strings, brass, woodwinds, etc.). Boreal automatically recognizes articulation sets already present on your computer (you only have to ensure each one has a unique name) Important: Always save your articulation sets after creating or editing them - Logic Pro requires you to re-select saved sets on your tracks (otherwise, it does not apply modifications).
Connect Logic Pro
Set up the connection between Boreal and Logic Pro through the Control Surfaces menu. This allows Boreal to automatically detect which articulations are available and display the current active articulation name on your controller.
Link Your Devices
Click the link button in Boreal to synchronize everything. This creates a web-based controller that any device on your WiFi network can access - no additional apps needed on your phone or tablet.
Start Controlling Remotely
Scan the QR code or visit the web address shown in Boreal from any smartphone, tablet, or computer. You will see all your articulations as colored buttons that you can tap to switch between them instantly. The controller shows which articulation is currently active and lets you switch seamlessly while composing.
